Checking out the view from the stunning Pele's Palace in Transilvania facing the 2,050 meter high mountain summit where I was just an hour before. All these amazing experiences catalogued in the long list of memories people have shared and experienced with the brooch I am seen here wearing from @mimapejoska . I have had such an incredible 2 weeks hosting one of the "The Wanderers"
Corrina Goutos Peles Castle, Romania Beautiful Birthday Celebration Companion Brooch and Me! A fiesta, some demolition, and a lot of jewelry making we have experienced together and tomorrow we fly away on an adventure in transilvania. Needless to say I am making good friends with the piece I get to host made by the talented @mimapejoska.
Corrina Goutos Elmshorn Two of the Wanderers ended up back to Skopje in my possesion at the same time.... with no new hosts lined up. This happened just a couple of days before a planned trip of mine to Germany. I used to live in Berlin a while ago... always loved it and always wanted to go back. This month travel fare seemed cheap, my friends there were in town, and turned out like a good time to go back and visit. I packed both Store-bought and Designers piece with me... even though I didn't exactly know if I would find anybody as a new host to give them to. So.... weird enough, during my entire 10 days stay in Germany, not once I got the desire to wear them. It didn't even strike me as an odd thing. I just don't feel like wearing jewelry these past few years. I have been designing and working with jewelry for the past 13+ years... and somehow had enough of it for a while. The only thing I actually wear every day is a necklace (made by 7 diffreent necklaces given to me by my grandmother) that has a lot of pendants on it.... each one given to me by a friend or bought by me at a special occasion. (when you scroll down you can see one image from the necklace on a coffee table when I was in Hamburg). Needless to say the two pieces never left my bag for almost the entire trip. Still.... somehow I felt they were a part of the whole journey. I spent 6-7 days visiting a friend in Berlin, and another 2 days in Hamburg visiting another friend - a former collegue of mine from Savannah College of Art and Design. I will not go into too much details... but the entire trip was a great experience! A lot of new people that I met, lots of house parties, lots of work unfortunatelly (great to be working remotely online though), as well as a lot of time spent in nature surrondings (in Hamburg I stayed with a friend who lived in the countryside). See images below and maybe it will give you a short overview what I have, (with the Wanderers in my backpack) have experienced. Mima,
Skopje, Macedonia While hanging on the window in front of my workdesk, reflecting the sunshine... Store Bought appeared changed to me. The vibrant colors that I considered striking and beautful at the begining of the journey, were not there anymore. It is clear that Store Bought had its own transition and now was left with scratched surface, metal peeking through the leftover color... and cheap shine that seemed kitschy. Mima
Skopje Work day starts. Sun, flowers, view of Vodno and the Store Bought Wanderer as part of the collage. Mima
Skopje Shortly after going back to Skopje (where the its journey started), Store Bought Wanderer was a part of birthday picnic party at Patishka Reka. Full 7 hours, 5 woman, games, tons of food and drinks and amazing weather. Patishka Reka, Macedonia
