I had an interesting conversation with a friend yesterday. We talked about Antique Wanderer, the lost trail and what could be the correct thing to do in a situation like this. We discussed all relationships created with the jewelry pieces, and talked about what other stories and places were suppose to be part of their journal. My friend had an interesting insight.
It is clear that this event is part of the Antique's story, and that most of us are sad to hear that there aren't going to be any new stories from the famous Macedonian button from Galichnik. So, why not take the time to grieve about this loss?
In Macedonia (and many other parts of the world), there is a 40 day grieving period when we lose someone. It is believed that even though departed, the soul of the deceased wanders (interesting choice of words) for full 40 days on Earth, before finally leaving this world. During this period the souls goes back and forth to familiar places, visits home etc.
My friends suggestion is to declare a mourning period of 40 days for Antique... let him wander freely before finally releasing him, or even giving it some time to wander back into out lives. In the meantime, allow all hosts that were waiting to host it, to express their emotions (in whatever form they wish) about how it feels to lose someone special before even officially meeting him/it.
